Yellow-legged Hornet

The Yellow Legged Hornet poses a serious threat to the beekeeping industry. These hornets can decimate honeybee colonies and disrupt local ecosystems by praying on beneficial insects. They were first found in Savannah, GA and are spreading into SC. Currently they are only in the coastal counties but are spreading. They are believed to have arrived on a container ship. If that is the case Greenville is an inland port which means they could show up here hitchhiking on a truck. We are trying to raise awareness so the public can help watch out for them.
